In a heartwarming tribute to the late actor Matthew Perry, the new owner of his Pacific Palisades residence, Anita Verma-Lallian, has vowed to retain the beloved “Batman” logo that Perry installed in the home’s swimming pool. This decision comes as a poignant reminder of Perry’s vibrant spirit and legacy, exactly one year after his untimely passing on October 28, 2023.
Verma-Lallian, a respected film producer and real estate developer, took to Instagram to announce her purchase of the property for an impressive $8.5 million in an off-market deal. Her excitement was palpable as she shared, “We are so excited to share that we bought a home in Los Angeles earlier this month! Our agent, Brooke Elliot, said she had an amazing ‘off-market’ property that she really wanted us to see.”
In her post, Verma-Lallian revealed plans for some renovations but made it clear that the iconic logo would remain intact. “We do plan to keep some of the design elements. The Batman logo in the pool is definitely staying,” she wrote, expressing her delight and intention to create new memories in what she described as a “piece of paradise filled with light.”
Upon her first visit, Verma-Lallian was instantly captivated by the home, particularly its stunning views of the Pacific Ocean. She recounted, “The moment I walked into the home, I absolutely fell in love with the features. We knew it was ‘the one’ and decided to write an offer on it immediately.”
Notably, the connection to Perry’s life did not influence her decision. “As a real estate developer myself, I believe every property has a history, and every home carries the energy that the current owner brings to it,” she explained. Verma-Lallian also shared her Hindu customs, stating that a blessing ceremony was conducted to honor the home’s new chapter.
With an emphasis on celebrating the positive aspects of Perry’s life and talent, she stated, “We chose to honor the immense joy he brought to so many people. The decision to purchase the home had nothing to do with the previous owner, just our love of the home.”
As she concluded her announcement, Verma-Lallian extended her wishes for a joyful Diwali, embodying a spirit of hope and renewal.
Matthew Perry purchased this elegant 3,500-square-foot residence for $6 million in 2020 and had made significant renovations prior to his death, referring to the home as “heaven.” His passing was ruled an accidental drowning, resulting from acute effects of ketamine, which sparked a wave of tributes from his family, fans, and co-stars, including Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox, on the anniversary of his death.
Perry’s legacy continues to resonate, not just in the memories of those who loved him, but also in the lasting mark he left on his home—now a space of love and creativity for its new owner.
