Michelle Wie West, the retired pro golfer, has welcomed her second child with husband Jonnie West. The couple joyfully announced the arrival of their son, Jagger Jerry YooJun West, via Instagram on Saturday, Oct. 19. The newborn joins the couple’s 4-year-old daughter, Makenna Kamalei Yoona West, who appeared in an adorable photo gazing over her new baby brother.
“Say hello to Makenna’s lil bro 🥹 Jagger Jerry YooJun West,” the proud parents captioned the post. The baby’s middle name honors his late grandfather, NBA legend Jerry West. A second photo shared in the post captured a close-up of Jagger’s hands and feet wrapped in a green swaddle blanket.
The couple, who married in August 2019, received warm congratulations from friends and followers, including Kendall Toole, who commented, “Congrats!!! Welcome to the world Jagger!” and Simone Kendle, who added, “Congratulations Michelle!! He’s beautiful.”
Wie West had announced her pregnancy earlier this year during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in May, sharing how excited Makenna was about becoming a big sister. “She’s telling everyone,” Wie West joked at the time, recalling how her daughter let the news slip to her teacher before the family was ready to share.
Reflecting on her journey with IVF, Wie West shared an emotional post on Instagram on Monday, Oct. 21, about her experience. She posted a video showing how her body has changed over the past year and expressed gratitude for her “team” who helped bring Jagger into the world.
“Wish I could go back in time and tell myself that everything will be okay,” she wrote. “It took a whole team for Jagger to be here, and I couldn’t be more grateful. Thinking about everyone going through loss and infertility struggles right now and wishing for everyone’s happy endings to their journeys.”
The post was tagged with #rainbowbaby and #IVF, reflecting the emotional journey the couple has undergone to grow their family.
