Travis Kelce, Kansas City Chiefs star and Super Bowl champion, stepped into the role of game show host with the launch of Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity? on Prime Video. However, comedian Nikki Glaser didn’t hold back from poking fun at Kelce’s personal life during his hosting debut.
In the second episode, titled “The Only Mythology I Know Is My Love Life,” Glaser made a playful jab at Kelce, referencing his relationship with popstar Taylor Swift. As she joined a contestant on stage, she quipped, “Do you have any motivational speech for Travis? ‘Cause his life is, like, not going great.” She added, “I think he just needs [some motivation],” nodding to his career and love life. Kelce responded with humor, saying, “I find motivation in everything.”
Throughout the show, Kelce brings his trademark humor and sportsmanship to each episode. He even joked during a later episode that the contestant was “playing in [their] Super Bowl,” and claimed, “I’ve never played this well in a Super Bowl.”
Despite admitting on his podcast New Heights that he was initially “terrified” about hosting, Kelce seems to have embraced the role. He shared that he even quizzed himself backstage to prepare, revealing his nerves over pronouncing some of the questions correctly.
The game show is a fresh take on the classic Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader? format, with contestants answering questions up to a sixth-grade level for a $100,000 prize. Kelce is joined by a celebrity panel including Natasha Leggero, Lilly Singh, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Chad Ochocinco, and more, as contestants try their luck against the stars.
The first three episodes of Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity? premiered on October 16, with more star-studded moments and witty banter ahead.
