Jordan Page, once dubbed “America’s Cheapest Mother” on TLC’s Extreme Cheapskates, is back in the spotlight as her frugal habits resurface in a viral TikTok clip. The Utah-based influencer initially gained fame in a 2013 episode where she shared her extreme money-saving tactics while raising her family of ten.
In the episode, which is gaining traction online, Page described herself as the “ultimate cheapskate housewife.” The show’s narrator highlighted her remarkable budgeting skills, noting that while the average family spent around $3,000 a month on household necessities, Page managed to keep her expenses below half that amount. Her strategies included watering down juice, meticulously rationing cereal, and even limiting toilet paper use.
Page’s then-husband, Bubba, humorously ranked their cheapskate level at “11 or 12” on a scale of one to ten. “People often think some of my methods are a little extreme, but I don’t know if I care because it works,” she said in the episode.
Other creative solutions she employed included soliciting leftover food from neighbors and baking cookies in her hot car—a technique she referred to as “dashboard cookies”—to save on electricity. Perhaps the most extreme of her practices was raising farm animals in their backyard, which allowed the family to cut grocery costs by producing their own eggs, meat, and milk.
The resurfacing of Page’s TLC episode comes amid her recent divorce from Bubba, which they announced in March after 17 years of marriage. Despite their split, the couple affirmed their commitment to co-parenting and their continued presence in each other’s social media content. “We still love and respect each other, support each other, work extremely well together, and will continue to do so,” Bubba stated.
In September, he shared an update confirming their divorce had been finalized, expressing gratitude for the support he received throughout the process. “It’s not how I envisioned my future,” he wrote, “but God has been so good to me.” He emphasized his focus on navigating this new chapter with love and care for their children.
