Jessica Biel has officially concluded filming her latest project, The Better Sister, a Prime Video thriller that explores family dynamics amid tragedy. The actress took to social media on October 9 to share highlights from the set, including behind-the-scenes clips and moments from the hair and makeup trailer, as she wrapped her role as Chloe.
In The Better Sister, Biel stars alongside Elizabeth Banks, who portrays her estranged sister Nicky. The gripping narrative revolves around the murder of Chloe’s husband, Adam, which compels the sisters to confront their tumultuous relationship. Biel, 42, captioned her post, “Wrapped filming on The Better Sister! NYC summer never looked so dramatic. Can’t wait for you to meet these sisters. 🎬”
Biel’s husband, Justin Timberlake, showed support by commenting on her post with heart-eye emojis. Several co-stars also chimed in, including Banks, 50, who expressed her excitement with heartfelt emojis. Gabriel Sloyer, who plays one of Chloe’s late husband’s colleagues, added applause emojis in appreciation of Biel’s performance.
Filming for the series, adapted from Alafair Burke’s novel, began in June. The two actresses were spotted at various iconic NYC locations throughout the summer, including Central Park and Tribeca.
According to the show’s official logline, Chloe navigates life with her successful lawyer husband Adam and their teenage son, Ethan, while Nicky struggles to stay afloat and maintain sobriety. However, when Adam is brutally murdered, the sisters must reunite, leading to shocking revelations and long-buried secrets coming to light.
Amid the intense filming schedule, Biel and Banks found time for leisure, including attending Timberlake’s Forget Tomorrow World Tour at Madison Square Garden in June. Banks even shared a vlog of the concert experience on Instagram, tagging Biel in the post, which Timberlake responded to with a heart emoji.
This filming period also coincided with a challenging time for Biel, as Timberlake was arrested for driving while intoxicated on June 19. However, he has since reached a plea deal in the matter.
