In a recent episode of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, Sarper Guven was visibly distressed over fiancée Shekinah Garner’s upcoming nose surgery, revealing concerns that went beyond her physical transformation. Shekinah’s decision to undergo a third rhinoplasty left Sarper with mixed emotions, particularly after learning it would mean a month-long abstinence from intimacy.
During the October 7 episode, Shekinah visited a clinic in Turkey to consult on her revision nose job. Sarper, who had reservations about her undergoing another procedure, voiced his anxieties, telling the cameras, “I tried my best to convince her, ‘You’re already beautiful. You’re starting to look like a factory production.’” Despite his concerns, Shekinah insisted on moving forward with the surgery.
Sarper’s unease grew as he asked to direct the surgeon on how he envisioned her nose. “I’m a little bit of a control freak,” he admitted, stepping in to share his research on rhinoplasties. He explained, “At least let me talk to the doctor and tell him what I want because I’ll be the one who sees that every day.”
Shekinah’s own concerns surfaced as she prepared for the procedure. Aware that recovery would limit her usual activities, she viewed this as an opportunity to test Sarper’s commitment. “I really hope that he can step up because it’s going to determine whether or not this is somebody I can live the rest of my life with,” she said.
The following day, the couple returned for surgery, and it was during the post-operative briefing that Sarper learned about the month-long sex ban. The nurse’s directive left him visibly shaken. “I almost had a heart attack when she said one month,” he confessed. While Shekinah asked the nurse if there was any flexibility around the restriction, Sarper expressed his frustration, suggesting they leave.
“I mean, we can go home right now,” he proposed, prompting Shekinah to reply, “You can go home… you’re stressing me out at this point.”
In a confessional, Shekinah acknowledged Sarper’s reluctance but reaffirmed her commitment to the procedure. “I know Sarper really wants me to cancel this surgery, but we’re here in the hospital, and I really want this,” she stated.
As Sarper watched Shekinah head into surgery, he admitted to the cameras, “Our relationship is on eggshells, and I want to show that I will always be with her, but I’ve never in my life looked after anyone, so it will be difficult.”
The episode highlighted both Shekinah’s resolve to make decisions for herself and Sarper’s struggle to relinquish control, adding a new layer of tension to their journey on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way.
