Alana Springsteen Embraces New Adventures, From Fishing to Music

Alana Springsteen is stepping out of her comfort zone, embracing new experiences beyond her music career. Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE on the red carpet at the 2024 People’s Choice Country Awards on September 26, the 23-year-old singer-songwriter shared her excitement about trying her hand at fishing and golfing, highlighting her adventurous spirit.

“I’m constantly trying new things,” Springsteen said. “I’m starting to golf a little bit. I’m not athletic at all, but I love picking up new sports and trying new things. So that’s been a fun adventure.”

The artist, known for her hit “Goodbye Looks Good on You,” revealed that she recently embarked on a fishing excursion where she caught her first big fish. “So that was a lot of fun,” she noted, reflecting on her childhood memories of fishing from a pier.

Springsteen believes in challenging herself daily, drawing parallels between her personal growth and her music career. “In the writing room, I want to be pushing myself too,” she explained. “I’m so excited for this next era I’m about to introduce. It’s been really hard to keep it a secret.”

Her collaboration with electronic music producer Tiesto on the summer hit “Hot Honey” has been a significant milestone for Springsteen. She described it as a “cool opportunity to kind of infuse his world and love what I do,” expressing her joy at the single’s success.

Currently touring the United States, Springsteen is also set to perform three shows in Australia in 2025. Last year, she reflected on her debut album, Twenty Something, discussing the challenges and triumphs of navigating her early twenties. “The past two years have been so eye-opening. I’ve been on this journey of really getting to know myself, and your 20s can be an emotional rollercoaster,” she said. “There’s a lot of things that happen. You’re taking chances, really getting to know yourself for the first time. And I’ve just been writing my way through it.”

In August, Springsteen showcased her talent in an NPR Tiny Desk concert, performing four songs, including “Ghost in my Guitar,” “Hot Honey,” “Feels Good,” and the title track, “Twenty Something.” As she continues to explore her musical journey and personal interests, fans can look forward to more exciting developments from this rising star.
