McGregor’s family story began in 1995 when he married French production designer Eve Mavrakis. The couple’s first child, Clara, was born just seven months after their wedding. Their family grew with the birth of their second daughter, Esther, in 2001. Following Esther’s arrival, McGregor and Mavrakis expanded their family further by adopting two daughters, Jamyan and Anouk.
In a 2021 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, McGregor expressed his deep affection for his daughters, stating, “They’re my everything.”
However, McGregor’s family life faced challenges when he and Mavrakis separated in May 2017 after 22 years of marriage.
