Halsey brought a touch of ’90s glamour to the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards with a stunning Versace gown that once graced Elizabeth Hurley’s wardrobe.
On September 11, the 29-year-old “Ego” singer turned heads in a striking red animal print dress originally designed by Gianni Versace for Hurley in 1996. Speaking during the pre-show, Halsey described the gown as a “miracle to find,” noting its historical significance and rarity.
“This dress was literally a miracle to find,” Halsey remarked. “Designed by Gianni Versace for Elizabeth Hurley in 1996, it hasn’t been worn since. From 1996 to now, I’m just living it up. I’m loving it.”
Elizabeth Hurley, now 59, first showcased the iconic dress at the grand opening of a Versace boutique in New York City in October 1996. The form-fitting gown features a striking black leopard print over a vivid red base, enhanced with sparkling red accents.
Halsey’s choice to don this vintage piece not only highlights her appreciation for fashion history but also pays homage to a classic design that continues to captivate.
