Donna Kelce, mother of NFL stars Jason and Travis Kelce, joined in the excitement as the Kansas City Chiefs launched their new season at the World’s Largest Tailgate: Tailgate Games event. The gathering, held on Thursday, September 4, served as the pregame celebration for the Chiefs’ match against the Baltimore Ravens at Arrowhead Stadium.
Arriving at the tailgate event, Donna made a stylish statement in a custom “Kelce” denim jacket, emblazoned with Travis Kelce’s number 87 in the team’s signature red and yellow colors. She completed her look with a black Chiefs baseball hat and red sneakers, and cheerfully waved pom-poms on the red carpet.
The pregame show, streamed live on www.ChiefsLive.com, featured appearances from Chiefs players, podcasters Lucas Brody and Nelson Vergara, YouTube sensation Funny Marco, and Hall of Fame wide receiver Dante Hall. The event celebrated the team’s dedicated fanbase with an array of festive activities.
During the live stream, Donna and Saturday Night Live star Heidi Gardner crafted friendship bracelets using Chiefs colors, adding a personal touch to the celebration. This nod to Taylor Swift, known for her friendship bracelets, delighted attendees.
The tailgate included a series of engaging games such as a BBQ sauce relay race, a cheeseburger stacking contest, and Kansas City-themed competitions. Additional fun was had with team trivia challenges and pre-recorded Q&A sessions with Chiefs players.
Donna Kelce gained widespread recognition in 2023 when her sons, Jason and Travis, made history as the first brothers to compete against each other in a Super Bowl, an event famously dubbed the “Kelce Bowl.” Donna was notably seen wearing a split jersey to show her support for both sons.
This season, Donna will focus on supporting Travis exclusively, following Jason Kelce’s retirement from the NFL in March.
