Los Angeles, September 4, 2024 — Sam Nivola has shared his excitement and received valuable advice from Meghann Fahy as he prepares to join the cast of the highly-anticipated third season of HBO’s The White Lotus.
In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE at the premiere of The Perfect Couple in Los Angeles, Nivola, 20, expressed his enthusiasm for his upcoming role in Mike White’s critically acclaimed series. He revealed that Fahy, a fellow actor and alum of the show, offered him encouraging words as he awaited his transition to the new project.
“Meghann just told me to strap in,” Nivola recounted. “I actually learned about my casting in The White Lotus on the last day of filming for The Perfect Couple while we were shooting a dance sequence.”
Nivola noted that Fahy was notably supportive and congratulatory upon hearing the news. She provided insights into working with White, highlighting his positive and accommodating nature. “She filled me in on Mike White’s quirks and how he operates,” Nivola said. “She mentioned that he’s really nice, treats his actors well, and assured me that I would have a great time and look amazing.”
Season 3 of The White Lotus is set to commence production in Thailand, with filming locations including Koh Samui, Phuket, and Bangkok. The new season will feature a fresh set of guests at another White Lotus property, with a thematic focus on Eastern spirituality and religion. HBO is collaborating with the Tourism Authority of Thailand to support both the filming and promotion of this installment.
Although specific plot details remain under wraps, Mike White has previously hinted at exploring themes related to Eastern spirituality and death, adding a satirical edge to the show’s examination of cultural and existential issues.
Joining Nivola in the upcoming season are Leslie Bibb, Dom Hetrakul, Jason Isaacs, Michelle Monaghan, Parker Posey, Tayme Thapthimthong, Walton Goggins, Sarah Catherine Hook, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Aimee Lou Wood, and BLACKPINK’s Lisa. Natasha Rothwell, who portrayed spa manager Belinda Lindsey, will also reprise her role.
