Sid Wilson, boyfriend of Kelly Osbourne, has provided a harrowing update on his condition following a severe accident at the couple’s Iowa farm last week. The Slipknot turntablist was rushed to the hospital after sustaining severe burns from an explosion.
In an interview with Fox News Digital, Wilson, 46, revealed that the lower half of his face was badly affected. “My face is basically melted from the nose down,” he said. “My whole right arm is bandaged up, and half of my left arm as well.”
Despite the severity of his injuries, Wilson noted some positive aspects of his recovery. “The swelling’s gone down, and they said the face is kind of amazing that it’s regenerative, it happens real fast, seems to heal quickly,” he explained. “I’ve had better days, I guess, but I’m alive, so I’m doing good.”
Wilson described the incident, which occurred while he was checking a wood pile he had been burning on the property where he and Osbourne live with their 21-month-old son, Sidney. He recounted, “A few nights ago, I lit it and let it burn down. The next day, I went to check it to see how much was left. There was some debris around the side still left, so I, like a dummy, added some gas to it.”
Wilson attempted to ignite the pile but was met with an explosion due to lingering vapors from the gasoline. “It was really humid out, so there was still a lot of vapors lingering around in there, and it just… woof. Exploded,” he said.
Following the blast, Wilson quickly transported his family to urgent care before being transferred to a larger hospital in Des Moines for continued treatment. Osbourne has been by his side throughout his recovery. “She’s been completely invaluable. She’s amazing,” Wilson said of his girlfriend of over two years. “I’m not really sure what I’d be doing if she wasn’t here doing that.”
Wilson’s message to others is a stern warning: “Don’t f–k around with fire. It’s going to win every time.”
