Wrestling Legend Sid Eudy Dies at 62

WWE is mourning the loss of Sid Eudy, the towering figure whose imposing presence and charismatic performance left an indelible mark on the world of professional wrestling.

Eudy, a two-time WWE Champion, was renowned for his larger-than-life persona and commanding 6’9″ stature. He first captured attention in 1989 when he joined WCW, where he faced off against some of the industry’s biggest stars, including The Steiner Brothers, The Road Warriors, and The Four Horsemen.

In WWE, Eudy initially appeared as Sid Justice. His impactful debut included serving as the Special Guest Referee at SummerSlam 1991, where he oversaw the high-stakes 3-on-2 Handicap Match featuring WWE Champion Hulk Hogan and The Ultimate Warrior against The Triangle of Terror. That same evening, Sid famously intervened to rescue Randy Savage and Miss Elizabeth from an assault by Jake Roberts and The Undertaker at their wedding reception.

After a hiatus from WWE, Eudy returned with a new persona, “Sycho Sid,” aligning himself with Shawn Michaels. Sid was a pivotal presence at WrestleMania XI, supporting Michaels in his bout against Diesel for the WWE Title. This marked the beginning of a storied rivalry, culminating in Sid capturing the WWE Championship from Michaels at Survivor Series in 1996. Following a brief loss of the title, Sid regained it by defeating Bret Hart on the February 17, 1997, edition of Raw.

Known for his moniker “The Master and Ruler of the World,” Sid Eudy’s legacy as one of WWE’s most formidable and exciting Superstars is firmly established. His influence continues to resonate throughout the wrestling world.

WWE extends heartfelt condolences to Eudy’s family, friends, and fans during this difficult time.
