Before taking the stage at Manchester Pride this past Saturday, Rita Ora shared her unique pre-performance rituals and her enthusiasm for the vibrant celebration.
In an exclusive interview with The Sun, the “Hot Right Now” singer revealed her preference for a hearty meal to fuel her energy before a show. “I like a good, big lunch to keep my energy up before a performance. It’s very important for me,” Ora stated.
The pop star, known for her lively performances, admitted she enjoys indulging in a traditional Northern chippy tea when time permits. “I would love to have a chippy if I have time. And for me, it’s gravy all the way,” she added. Ora also mentioned her fondness for a tequila soda or vodka soda with lime.
Expressing her excitement for the Manchester Pride festivities, Ora shared her love for the city. “I love going out in Manchester; it’s so much fun,” she said. “I can’t wait for the performance.”
Reflecting on her personal journey, Rita Ora reminisced about her early experiences with dance music. “I would always go to the underground bars and clubs, and that is where I fell in love with dance music and the feeling of make-up melting off my face,” she said.
Ora also discussed the significance of Pride and her support for the LGBTQ+ community. “I had no idea what was going to happen in my career,” she explained. “I fell in love with dance music by being accepted in the gay raves in the underground scene.”
The singer emphasized that growing up, music played a crucial role in her sense of belonging within the community. “I felt the acceptance, through music, of being in the community,” she concluded.
