In a highly anticipated announcement, award-winning artist The Weeknd has revealed plans for his inaugural stadium tour across Australia as part of his acclaimed After Hours Til Dawn Tour.
The Grammy-winning sensation, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, will be making his long-awaited return to Australia in October, marking his first visit since 2017. The tour will be a landmark event, with The Weeknd performing in major stadiums across the country.
The announcement follows a series of disruptions to his tour schedule. Earlier this year, The Weeknd had to postpone his planned November and December 2023 dates just weeks before they were set to begin. The tour was eventually canceled in April, leaving fans eagerly awaiting news of his return.
Now, the artist’s latest update brings exciting news to his Australian fans. The upcoming tour will feature performances in Melbourne and Sydney, with special appearances by supporting acts Mike Dean, Chxrry22, and Sydney’s own Anna Lunoe.
“The pull to perform in Australia is strong, and I want to ensure you all know I haven’t forgotten about you,” The Weeknd stated in a press release. “Returning now feels like the right moment, and I promise this will be a special experience. I can’t wait to see you all!”
The tour will commence on October 5 at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium, with back-to-back shows on October 5 and 6. The Weeknd will then head to Sydney’s Accor Stadium for performances on October 22 and 23.
Originally, the tour was set to include stops in Brisbane and New Zealand, but due to “schedule and logistical constraints,” these dates have been removed, with no additional cities planned.
Tickets for The Weeknd’s After Hours Til Dawn 2024 Australian tour will be available starting Wednesday, August 21 for Past Purchaser Presale, with general sales opening on Monday, August 26. Fans can purchase tickets through TheWeeknd.com/Tour.
This tour promises to be a major event in Australia’s music calendar, offering fans a chance to experience The Weeknd’s dynamic live performances on a grand scale.
