In a remarkable achievement for Chappell Roan, the rising pop star has soared to No. 2 on the Billboard 200 Chart with her debut album The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess. This impressive milestone comes just behind Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department, which continues its dominant run at the top for a 15th non-consecutive week.

Roan’s album has seen a notable increase of 13% in sales, totaling an additional 72,000 units this week, according to Billboard. This marks a new peak for the album, which has been climbing steadily since its release in late September of the previous year. Notably, it entered the Top 10 on June 22 and has continued its ascent each week.

The Billboard 200 Chart this week also features notable entries including Morgan Wallen’s One Thing At A Time, Billie Eilish’s Hit Me Hard And Soft, and Charli XCX’s Brat.

Chappell Roan’s meteoric rise has been a decade in the making, driven by viral social media hits and strategic appearances. Her impressive portfolio includes performances on NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert series, Coachella, the Governors Ball Music Festival, and The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. Additionally, she has graced the stages of Lollapalooza and opened for Olivia Rodrigo earlier this year.

Recently, Roan made headlines at Outside Lands for calling out her VIP section for their lack of enthusiasm, urging them to “Be fun and try!”

The “Red Wine Supernova” singer is also a contender for Best New Artist at the upcoming VMAs on September 11.
