Jack Russell, the renowned lead singer of the rock band Great White, has passed away at the age of 63. The news was announced on Russell’s X account Thursday evening.
According to a family spokesperson, Russell’s death was due to complications from Lewy Body Dementia and Multiple Systems Atrophy. NBC 10 confirmed these details.
Russell’s last performance in New England took place in August 2015, marking the first appearance of the band in the region since the tragic 2003 Station nightclub fire in West Warwick. The fire, which claimed 100 lives, included one of Great White’s own members.
Following the fire, Great White split into two factions: Great White and Jack Russell’s Great White.
The family’s spokesperson reflected on Russell’s deep connection with his fans, stating, “As the writer behind his autobiography and a close friend, I can attest that Jack cherished his fans immensely. He longed to embrace each survivor and victim’s family, offering them comfort and solidarity, regardless of whether they sought it.”
