Los Angeles police have arrested actor Gabriel Olds on charges related to a series of sexual assaults. The 52-year-old, known for his roles in various films and TV shows, was booked into jail Wednesday morning near Crestwood Hills.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), Olds faces seven felony counts stemming from accusations made by multiple women. The alleged assaults occurred between 2013 and 2023.
Olds, an Ivy League alumnus and actor with a notable Hollywood career, is accused of exploiting his professional status to meet women and arrange dates. Recent reports indicate that several victims encountered Olds through dating apps.
“Victims have reported that Olds initially appeared charming, but quickly became violent without obtaining their consent,” stated an LAPD spokesperson.
One significant allegation involves a 41-year-old woman who reported being raped by Olds at her Los Angeles home on January 19, 2023. Following this, two more victims came forward with similar claims dating back to 2013, describing encounters that began consensually but ended in sexual violence.
Detectives are investigating whether there are additional victims nationwide. “The pattern of behavior is distressingly consistent,” said LAPD Detective Brent Hopkins. “Olds initially presents himself as charismatic but then resorts to brutal violence. Many survivors endured significant suffering before coming forward. With Olds now in custody, we urge anyone with information to reach out.”
Olds, a New York native and Yale University graduate, has been active in the film industry since the 1990s. His notable credits include appearances in Penny Marshall’s “Calendar Girl” and the television series “Party of Five.” His most recent role was as a young Pat Robertson in “The Eyes of Tammy Faye,” which won two Academy Awards.
The investigation is ongoing as police work to determine if there are further victims.
