In a series of explosive claims, Milo Yiannopoulos, Kanye West‘s former chief of staff, has accused the rapper’s dentist, Dr. Thomas P. Connelly, of contributing to West’s alleged “self-destruction” through an illicit supply of nitrous gas.
Yiannopoulos asserts that Dr. Connelly, a prominent celebrity dentist, provided West with a continuous and “unlawful supply” of nitrous gas, commonly known as laughing gas, despite the rapper’s deteriorating mental state. According to Yiannopoulos, this supply was both unethical and dangerous, exacerbating West’s vulnerabilities and leading to severe cognitive impairments.
The allegations were made in a legal affidavit obtained by the Daily Mail, in which Yiannopoulos claimed that Dr. Connelly charged West over $50,000 per month for the gas, which was used for recreational purposes rather than medical treatment. Despite evident signs of West’s mental decline, Yiannopoulos alleges that Dr. Connelly continued to provide the gas, neglecting the serious risks associated with its misuse.
Yiannopoulos, who was once a close insider within West’s Yeezy brand, further accused Dr. Connelly of instructing West on how to use the gas canisters on his own, without the supervision of a qualified medical professional. This, Yiannopoulos believes, was a clear violation of professional ethics, as Dr. Connelly was fully aware of West’s history of mental illness and addiction.
The affidavit also details concerns from other Yeezy employees, who noticed West’s increasing reliance on the gas, often seeing him use the inhaler mask during meetings. Yiannopoulos noted that surgical tanks of the gas were even found in the apartment of Bianca Censori, West’s reported companion, indicating a pattern of excessive use.
Yiannopoulos connected West’s behavior, including his “incomprehensible and contradictory” communications during staff meetings, to the “widely-reported bipolar diagnosis” that he believes has been aggravated by the prolonged use of nitrous gas. He accused Dr. Connelly of exploiting West’s psychological vulnerabilities for financial gain, labeling his actions as fraudulent.
In his affidavit, Yiannopoulos called for an official investigation into Dr. Connelly’s conduct, urging that his dental license be suspended pending the outcome. He emphasized that his decision to come forward was driven by a deep concern for West’s well-being, as he feared for the rapper’s future if the situation remained unaddressed.
