Drake surprised fans with a special appearance at PartyNextDoor‘s concert this past weekend, delivering thrilling news and a unique performance. The celebrated rapper announced a forthcoming collaborative album with PartyNextDoor, revealing that the duo has been working on the project for quite some time.

On Friday night (August 2), Drake took the stage at Toronto’s Budweiser Stage, captivating the hometown audience with an hour-long performance following PartyNextDoor’s set. “On behalf of me and Party, we’ve been working on something for y’all,” Drake announced to the enthusiastic crowd. “So, you get the summer over with, you do what you need to do. I know all you girls are outside. When it gets a little chilly, [a] PartyNextDoor and Drake album will be waiting right there for you.” This announcement quickly spread across social media, where fans expressed their excitement.

Drake shared that his appearance at the concert was a gesture of gratitude for the unwavering support of his fans, especially in light of his ongoing feud with rapper Kendrick Lamar and the popularity of Lamar’s diss track ‘Not Like Us.’ The evening kicked off with Drake remixing his 2015 hit ‘Sweeterman’ by Ramriddlz, before transitioning into the live debut of ‘Wah Gwan Delilah,’ a Toronto-themed adaptation of the song. Videos of the performance flooded social media, with fans praising Drake and interpreting his act as a playful jab at Lamar. Comments ranged from “this is hilarious” to “Drake is mocking Kendrick,” showcasing a mix of amusement and admiration.

Adding to the night’s surprises, rapper Snowd4y, pronounced Snowday, released a cover of Plain White T’s ‘Hey There Delilah,’ featuring a remix and a verse from Drake. The track reimagines the original with a blend of autotune and parody-like lyrics. Plain White T’s lead singer Tom Higgenson reacted to the cover on social media, initially believing it to be an AI creation. “That’s not Drake,” Higgenson remarked. “It’s crazy that everybody thinks that it’s real. It seems like it’s very obvious. I don’t know. But it’s cool. Whatever.”

During his set, Drake performed hits including ‘Connect,’ ‘Practice,’ ‘Finesse,’ ‘Redemption,’ and ‘Pipe Down.’ He praised PartyNextDoor as the “King of R&B” before the duo concluded the night with their 2016 collaboration ‘Come and See Me,’ leaving fans eagerly anticipating their joint album.
