Joshua Jaramillo, who claims to have contributed to the 2021 release, has filed a lawsuit seeking damages and a comprehensive accounting of royalties. Jaramillo asserts that he was promised 5% ownership and 1% of the song’s royalties, but alleges that he has not received the full compensation nor a detailed account of the song’s earnings despite repeated requests.
In related developments, it has been announced that posthumous collaborations between Juice WRLD and XXXTentacion are on the horizon. Recent social media activity from Lil Bibby, a key figure in Juice WRLD’s circle, revealed a group chat screenshot hinting at new music. DJ Scheme, who had strong ties with both late rappers, confirmed via X (formerly Twitter) that two new tracks are indeed coming.
Rumors of a collaboration between the two artists have circulated since their untimely deaths—XXXTentacion was murdered in 2018, and Juice WRLD passed away from a drug overdose in 2019. While DJ Scheme had previously mentioned working on these projects, there was uncertainty regarding their release. Ally Lotti, Juice WRLD’s former girlfriend, expressed skepticism about the release of the collaboration, noting that it was recorded years ago and questioning whether it would ever surface.
Juice WRLD had previously paid tribute to XXXTentacion and Lil Peep with a double EP following their deaths.
