Ryan Reynolds has been enjoying his worldwide travels with Hugh Jackman as part of their Deadpool & Wolverine press tour. However, the actor deeply misses his wife, Blake Lively, and their children during this time away from home.
As Ryan promotes the highly-anticipated Deadpool & Wolverine, set to hit theaters on July 26, Blake is also preparing for her own big release. The film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s bestseller It Ends With Us will premiere on August 9.
The couple, who married in 2012, are known for their playful social media interactions and public shout-outs, especially when they are apart. Ryan’s latest public message is no exception. During an appearance on LIVE with Kelly & Mark on July 22, before the New York City premiere of Deadpool & Wolverine, Ryan expressed his eagerness to reunite with Blake.
When co-hosts Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos mentioned Blake’s upcoming appearance on the show, they asked Ryan what they should convey to her. He sweetly responded, “Please come home, me and the kids miss her.”
Discussing their playful social media “trolling,” Ryan remarked, “I think it’s the sign of a healthy relationship,” and provided insight into their dynamic at home. He emphasized that beyond the jokes, they genuinely support each other, which he believes is the foundation of their strong relationship. Using his 17-year friendship with co-star Hugh Jackman as an example, Ryan highlighted the importance of mutual encouragement, saying, “We want each other to win.”
Despite their busy schedules, Blake and Ryan always prioritize date nights. Ryan shared a humorous anecdote about their recent date night, which displeased their nine-year-old daughter James. “We went on a date the other night,” Ryan recalled, adding, “And our oldest was gonna kill us, just for going on a date.” He continued, “What’s crazy is the whole time we’re there — you guys know this — you just talk about [the kids].”
In addition to James, the couple has three more children: Inez, seven, Betty, four, and a fourth child born in late 2022, whose name and gender have not yet been disclosed.
