Zendaya and Tom Holland continue to thrive in their relationship, much to the delight of their loved ones.
“These two are the real deal,” an insider exclusively shares with Us Weekly. “They started as best friends, which is why their relationship is so strong.”
Since confirming their romance in 2021, Holland, 28, and Zendaya, 27, have maintained a “low-key” relationship, a quality that their families appreciate.
“Their families are all in on the relationship,” the source adds. “[They] think they’re perfect together.”
Despite their fame since meeting on the set of “Spider-Man: Homecoming” in 2016, the couple hasn’t let it affect their bond.
“They’re each other’s biggest supporters,” the insider says. “They ‘get’ each other.”
After portraying love interests Peter Parker/Spider-Man and MJ in “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” the pair sparked romance rumors as they grew closer off-screen. They confirmed their relationship status in July 2021 when they were photographed kissing in a car in Los Angeles. The following month, they attended a friend’s wedding together in California.
Throughout their relationship, Holland and Zendaya have reunited on screen for “Spider-Man: Far From Home” and “Spider-Man: No Way Home.” They have also begun to share more about their private lives with fans. Zendaya revealed to E! News in September 2022 that her “boyfriend” was the first person she texted when she won Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series at the Emmys that year.
Holland praised Zendaya in a June 2023 interview with Buzzfeed, saying, “I’m locked up, so I’m happy and in love.”
Zendaya returned the favor earlier this year during her own interview with Buzzfeed. When asked which of her “Dune” cast members had the best “rizz” (short for charisma), she pointed to her partner.
“I think someone who has beautiful charisma, not on the ‘Dune’ cast, but personally works for me, is Mr. Tom Holland,” Zendaya said in February. She praised Holland for bringing out the best in her, explaining, “I’m more shy and kind of quiet, so it takes a bit more to pull me out of my shell. But he’s great at just talking to people, getting to know people.”
Zendaya added, “He’s just naturally very good at that. I’ve definitely had to pull it out of me a little bit. He’s got that natural gift.”
