Cardi B expressed frustration over Budden’s continuous negative commentary, claiming he has never offered any positive feedback about her work. Despite his professed anticipation for her next album, Cardi accused Budden of being disingenuous, highlighting past criticisms of her personal life and career. She further alleged that Budden had once received a lap dance from her and engaged in illicit activities.
“I don’t understand why I keep getting harassed by this man,” Cardi said, urging Budden to cease his attacks. “You tear down my single, you tear down my personal life, you tear down everything I f*cking do.” Cardi B also pointed out that Budden’s criticism is not limited to her alone but extends to other artists.
The “WAP” rapper specifically addressed Budden’s critique of Drake’s $400 million record deal, which Budden questioned on his podcast in April. Budden had implied that Drake’s extensive tour schedule might be driven by contractual obligations rather than genuine artistic passion. Cardi B vehemently disagreed, arguing that for such a substantial sum, she would be more than willing to tour indefinitely.
“Stop being a f*cking hater,” Cardi B asserted. “I’d tour until I’m 65 if someone offered me $400 million. $400 million that you don’t have… Everything that someone does well, you always hate on it. That’s bad, that’s terrible. You always hating on something.” Cardi emphasized the distinction between constructive criticism and outright hostility, questioning how anyone could find fault with Drake’s lucrative deal.
