Drake’s Presence at Michael Rubin’s All-White Party Results in Kendrick Lamar Music Ban

by Coco

During Michael Rubin’s all-white party in the Hamptons, the absence of Kendrick Lamar‘s music was notably felt, allegedly due to the ongoing feud between Drake and the Los Angeles-born rapper. The 37-year-old Drake shared a photo on his Instagram story featuring himself and female rapper GloRilla, enjoying the lavish event.

Throughout the night, several DJs took turns at the booth, yet none chose to play any of Kendrick Lamar’s tracks. Sources suggest this decision was influenced by Drake’s presence and his ongoing rivalry with Kendrick. The main DJ, reportedly a member of Travis Scott‘s crew and a friend of Drake, also refrained from including Kendrick’s music in the mix.

This feud dates back to 2013 when Kendrick Lamar dissed Drake and other rappers in Big Sean‘s song “Control.” Kendrick further escalated the conflict with his track “Like That,” featuring Metro Boomin and Future, where he rapped, “motherfk the big three, n*a, it’s just big me.” Despite having once opened for Drake, the animosity between the two has persisted, impacting even the choice of music at high-profile events like Rubin’s party.
