Vanessa Hudgens has embraced a new chapter in her life as she and her husband, Cole Tucker, welcome their first child together.
The former High School Musical star gave birth recently, a source confirmed to E! News. Vanessa’s pregnancy journey has been anything but ordinary, with memorable moments shared publicly, including her announcement on the red carpet of the 2024 Oscars.
Dressed in a stunning black turtleneck gown by Vera Wang, Vanessa proudly displayed her baby bump for photographers before hosting ABC’s The Oscars Red Carpet Show. Later, she donned a black see-through Alberta Ferretti dress at Vanity Fair’s annual Oscars after-party, where she once again showcased her pregnancy glow. Reflecting on the night, the 35-year-old actress shared on Instagram, “One for the books.”
Vanessa and Cole’s love story is equally captivating. The couple first met during a meditation group call led by Jay Shetty amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Vanessa recounted to Vogue how she noticed Cole on the Zoom call and later connected with him on Instagram. “He sent a DM the next day,” she revealed.
Their relationship quickly blossomed. Vanessa, who previously dated Austin Butler for nearly nine years before their split in early 2020, felt an immediate connection with Cole. “After our first weekend together, I called my sister and said, ‘I think I just found my future husband,'” she shared on an episode of Today With Hoda & Jenna in April 2023.
Cole was equally smitten from the start. Just after going Instagram official on Valentine’s Day in 2021, the baseball player publicly declared his love. “I got a girlfriend and she’s cool,” he told KDKA. “She’s awesome. I love her.”
Two years later, during a romantic trip to Paris, the couple took their relationship to the next level when Cole proposed. Vanessa described the proposal to Vogue, saying, “It’s the most romantic city in the world. I was very surprised. I dropped a hint that Paris would be the ideal place, but I didn’t want to have any expectations. He caught me completely off guard.”
Their wedding, held on December 2, was a magical event attended by some of Vanessa’s former High School Musical co-stars. “Seeing Cole at the end of the aisle was the most emotional moment of my life,” Vanessa recalled. “I literally keeled over when I saw him and had to take a big breath to keep walking because I could have dropped to the floor. It exceeded my expectations.”
