Cyndi Lauper has openly expressed admiration for Taylor Swift‘s musical talents. She revealed her deep appreciation for the artist behind “Look What You Made Me Do,” highlighting both her performance skills and songwriting abilities.
Lauper, an iconic figure in the music industry, emphasized Swift’s prowess as a songwriter. “Listen, I like her (Taylor Swift). In my opinion, she’s great. As an artist, she’s written several beautiful songs,” Lauper said during a recent interview on BBC’s The One Show.
The 71-year-old singer-songwriter shared her experience of discovering Swift’s music. She specifically praised the “Folklore” album, released in 2020, which soared to the top of the Billboard 200 chart.
“I first started listening during the pandemic, when she was off, mixing and remixing, creating incredible recordings,” Lauper recalled. “It’s beautiful. I’m so proud of her.”
As Lauper prepares for her final tour, which will take her across the United States and Canada from October to December this year, she continues to celebrate the accomplishments of her fellow artists.
