“The Man from U.N.C.L.E.” Starring Henry Cavill: A Must-Watch Spy Thriller Coming to Netflix

Henry Cavill, a perennial fan favorite to play James Bond, may have missed his chance to portray the iconic spy. However, fans can still see him in a Bond-like role in the 2015 film “The Man from U.N.C.L.E.,” which will soon be available for streaming.

Starting July 27, Netflix will offer “The Man from U.N.C.L.E.,” a film adaptation of the 1960s television series created by James Bond author Ian Fleming. The original series even featured a cameo by former Bond actor George Lazenby, who appeared in the 1983 reunion TV film driving Bond’s iconic Aston Martin DB5.

Directed by Guy Ritchie, who has recently teamed up with Cavill for “The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare,” the film is set during the Cold War. Cavill stars as CIA agent Napoleon Solo, working alongside Armie Hammer’s KGB agent Illya Kuryakin. The two adversaries must join forces to thwart a common enemy. Cavill’s portrayal of Solo has drawn frequent comparisons to James Bond, offering a glimpse of how he might have fared as 007.

Fans eagerly anticipating Cavill in a spy role will find “The Man from U.N.C.L.E.” a thrilling substitute when it begins streaming on Netflix later this month.
