Shady’s back, back again. Eminem has officially announced the release date of his 12th studio album, “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce),” set to drop on July 12. The rapper made this announcement on Monday, July 1, with a characteristically eerie trailer.

The unsettling video features a woman giving birth to a baby in a scene that quickly turns horrific. Initially lifeless, the baby only starts breathing after the doctor gives it a few slaps. However, the relief is short-lived as the baby opens its eyes, revealing completely black irises. As the room erupts in shock, the newborn’s tongue slithers, and it sprouts horns, prompting shouts of “Holy sh*t!” from those present. The trailer concludes with “Houdini” playing in the background, and the album title and release date are displayed.

Eminem captioned the clip with: “OH SH*T!!! THE DEATH OF SLIM SHADY (COUP DE GRÂCE) 7/12.”

Fans on social media quickly expressed their excitement. One fan on X (formerly Twitter) said, “I have not felt this much excitement for an album in so long.”

The first half of July is packed for Eminem. Following the release of “Houdini,” he is set to drop a second single, “Tobey,” on Wednesday, July 3. The track, inspired by Tobey Maguire, features fellow Detroit artists Big Sean and Babytron. A Cole Bennett-directed music video for “Tobey” will be released on Friday, July 5.

“Houdini” has already proven successful, earning Eminem his highest-charting Hot 100 hit of the decade, debuting at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100.
