Two of Drake‘s unreleased tracks have hit the internet, and fans are buzzing! The songs, “Plenty (Wet Up)” featuring Shenseea and “Nah Nah” with Skillibeng, surfaced on Twitter over the weekend. Fans are wondering why these gems never got an official release.
“Plenty (Wet Up)” has Shenseea leading the charge. Originally meant for her debut album Alpha (2021), the track has a catchy Dancehall beat by Rvssian. Shenseea brings playful lyrics in the chorus and first verse, while Drake adds his smooth style in the second verse.
In “Nah Nah,” reportedly from Drake’s Honestly, Nevermind (2022) sessions, he raps about a complicated relationship over a dark beat. Skillibeng jumps in with a verse and outro, referencing his hit “Crocodile Teeth.”
The Shenseea-Drake collaboration isn’t their first time making headlines. Back in 2021, rumors swirled that they were expecting a child together. This started as an April Fool’s joke but was taken seriously by some. Shenseea debunked it two months later.
In a 2022 chat with The Shade Room, Shenseea said she’s open to working with Drake again. “I would make a record with Drake. He’s talented. I’m passionate about my music, so as long as we don’t have any bad blood, let the public talk. We’ve had conversations before, but nothing serious,” she said, dismissing the dating rumors.
Skillibeng also has a connection with Drake. He performed at Drake’s 36th birthday party in Miami in 2022. Earlier that year, Drake featured both Popcaan and Skillibeng in a campaign video for his NOCTA x Nike ‘Hot Step’ Air Terra collaboration.
Drake often faces criticism for being a ‘culture vulture.’ In a 2019 Rap Radar interview, he defended himself, saying he always supports and gives opportunities to the artists he collaborates with. “Appropriating is taking for personal gain without acknowledging the source. I always pay respect and give opportunities,” Drake said.
These leaks have left fans wanting more. Will Drake officially release these tracks? Only time will tell!
