Excitement is building as James Gunn’s Superman reboot continues filming in Cleveland, Ohio. The latest set photos reveal Rachel Brosnahan as the iconic Lois Lane, Wendell Pierce as Perry White, and Skyler Gizondo as Jimmy Olsen, giving fans their first look at the new Daily Planet team in action.
In the vibrant image, Lois Lane is seen in a striking, Action Comics-accurate purple ensemble. She’s accompanied by Jimmy Olsen (Skyler Gizondo), Ron Troupe (Christopher McDonald), and Perry White (Wendell Pierce), all descending the steps of a mysterious craft that appeared earlier in the day. The nature of their mission remains unclear, but speculation is rife: are they negotiating a prisoner exchange, or did Superman save them from a plane crash?
The film boasts an impressive cast with Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern Guy Gardner, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, and Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho. Adding to the intrigue, Sara Sampaio will portray Lex’s assistant and lover Eve Teschmacher, Pruitt Taylor Vince and Neva Howell are set as “Ma” and “Pa” Kent, and Milly Alcock’s Supergirl might make an appearance, hinting at her own upcoming “Woman of Tomorrow” movie.
James Gunn has teased that the film will delve into Superman’s dual life as Clark Kent and the Man of Steel, potentially featuring a network of superhero allies. Whether these characters will form a cohesive team remains to be seen.
Gunn expressed his excitement earlier this year, announcing the start of principal photography on Superman’s birthday, February 29. He shared that the film, initially titled “Superman: Legacy,” evolved into simply “SUPERMAN” as the script took shape. The movie is slated for release in July 2025, and anticipation is already sky-high.
