Ariana Grande has revealed that Brandy and Monica will collaborate with her on a remix of her song ‘The Boy is Mine’ from her latest album, Eternal Sunshine. This remix marks a nostalgic return two decades after Brandy and Monica topped the Billboard charts with their original hit of the same name, which spent 13 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1998.

Grande shared the news on her social media, expressing her disbelief and gratitude: “。˚ ♡ ☼ THE BOY IS MINE REMIX with @brandy and @monicadenise june 21st .゚*ꕤ ♾ i ……… cannot believe this is real (i don’t know if i will even long after it’s out) my deepest and sincerest thank you to Brandy and Monica, not only for joining me for this moment, but for your generosity, your kindness, and for the countless ways in which you have inspired me. it is near impossible to say how much this means to me. this is in celebration of you both and the impact that you have had on every vocalist, vocal producer, musician, artist that is creating today. i loooooove you both so so much. thank you !!!!!!! The announcement follows Brandy and Monica’s surprise appearances in Grande’s Catwoman-themed music video for ‘The Boy is Mine,’ released on June 14. In the video, Grande pursues Penn Badgley, who portrays a newly elected mayor releasing stray cats in a New York-esque city to combat a rat infestation, with Brandy and Monica introducing the storyline to viewers.
