Jelly Roll isn’t giving up his beloved Waffle House meals on his weight-loss journey — and he’s showing fans how to enjoy the best of both worlds! The singer shared a glimpse into his daily eating routine while on tour, revealing how his nutrition coach, Ian Larios, helps him stay on track with protein-packed, healthier versions of his favorite comfort foods.
In a video posted on Instagram on March 31, Jelly Roll, 40, explained that he sticks to just two meals a day, plus one snack, while hitting the road for his Beautifully Broken tour and gearing up for the Big Ass Stadium Tour with Post Malone. “Chef Larios has been killing it even more lately, so we wanted to show y’all a little bit of what the day-to-day looks like on tour,” Jelly wrote alongside the video.
The first meal of the day? A “healthy breakfast bowl,” which Larios cleverly calls the “Waffle House Bowl, healthy rendition.” The dish features Wagyu beef tallow-cooked hash browns, chicken sausage, bell peppers, and bone broth, all packed with protein. The potatoes are air-fried and mixed in sauerkraut for extra flavor and probiotics.
“Carbs, protein, packed with probiotics,” Larios explains as he presents the bowl to Jelly. “Oh, is it the one with the sauerkraut?” Jelly asks, excitedly digging in. He laughs, explaining that his love for Waffle House inspired the creation of this healthy alternative.
Next up, Jelly enjoys his favorite snack: a peanut butter dough cookie bite paired with sliced bananas. “Oh, peanut butter bananas?” he says, visibly delighted. “This is something I really look forward to,” Larios adds.
The final meal of the day is Jelly’s twist on poutine — or as he calls it, “protein poutine.” It’s made with cashew cheese curds, chicken thighs cooked in bone broth, homemade French fries, and a gravy of caramelized peppers and bone broth. “Yo, them cheese curds are fire,” Jelly says as he digs in.
Even while touring, Jelly Roll sticks to a fitness routine, balancing exercise like walking around arenas, boxing, and basketball. He’s already surpassed his 100-pound weight-loss goal, dropping about 140 pounds since last October. Jelly is even preparing for his second 5K and has invited fans to join him in his “Jelly Roll’s Losers Run Club.”
Reflecting on his journey, Jelly says, “It felt so good to have friends and people behind me, telling me I was doing the right thing… I believe that we can create huge change right here.”
