Madonna is turning heads with a stylish nod to her past!

On Saturday, March 29, the Queen of Pop, 66, made a fashion statement at a Mother, Daughter, Holy Spirit fashion show in New York City, wearing the iconic jacket from her 1985 movie Desperately Seeking Susan. The event, titled “Mother,” was the first of a three-part fundraiser benefiting the Trans Justice Funding Project.

In an Instagram post on March 31, Madonna revealed she wore the jacket to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the film’s release.

Directed by Susan Seidelman, Desperately Seeking Susan was set in New York City and followed the intertwined lives of two women connected by a newspaper. The film marked Madonna’s big-screen debut and also starred Rosanna Arquette, Aidan Quinn, John Turturro, Giancarlo Esposito, and Laurie Metcalf.

Madonna shared glimpses of her chic ensemble on social media, posting: “Happy Trans Visibility Day!! And Happy 40th anniversary of my first film – Desperately Seeking Susan!!” She continued, “We celebrated this weekend by attending a fashion show called, MOTHER – DAUGHTER – HOLY SPIRIT!! All money raised will go to the Trans Justice Funding Project! Thank you, to All for showing up.”

Her outfit consisted of a black blazer, white buttoned shirt, and black tie, paired with knee-length shorts, black tights, and black-and-white heels. She accessorized with a gold and black cross necklace and black gloves.

Adding an extra touch of nostalgia, Madonna wore the unforgettable shimmery jacket from Desperately Seeking Susan. One photo in her post showed her striking a pose with her hands in her pockets, rocking brown sunglasses and showcasing the jacket’s pale yellow pyramid and red designs on the back.

A press release from the fundraiser, organized by Bobbi Salvör Menuez and John Mollett, described the event as reminiscent of early 20th-century couture salon shows. The runway featured designs from Conner Ives, Magliano, Vaquera, Willy Chavarria, Valentino, and pieces from the Women’s History Museum.

A-list celebrities like Chloë Sevigny, Julia Fox, Lena Waithe, Pedro Pascal, and more also contributed to the cause by donating items from their personal wardrobes.

Madonna’s trip down memory lane doesn’t stop with the jacket. Last month, she sent Instagram fans wild when she posted a sultry video promoting the rerelease of her 1994 album Bedtime Stories. In the clip, she wore pink lingerie paired with thigh-high stockings, chunky chains, and patent-leather black stilettos, making it clear that her bold style is timeless.
