Georgia’s Eurovision 2025 representative, Mariam Shengelia, has finally been revealed! After much anticipation, the talented singer will perform her hit song “Freedom” at the event in Basel.

1. Hailing from Mingrelia
Mariam Shengelia was born on May 14, 2002, in the historic region of Mingrelia (Samegrelo), western Georgia. Though she grew up in Tbilisi, she later moved to Zugdidi with her family.

Mariam isn’t just a solo artist—she’s also part of the popular Georgian cover band, Mix2ura. She’s always been at home on stage!

From a young age, Mariam’s love for music was undeniable. She pursued her passion at the Tbilisi State Conservatory, where she studied vocal performance and music theory.

Mariam’s dream of representing Georgia at Eurovision started back in 2019 when she participated in Geostar. She came in sixth place, but with Eurovision 2020 canceled due to the pandemic, her journey didn’t stop there.

In 2020, Mariam was set to provide backing vocals for Tornike Kipiani, who was chosen to represent Georgia at Eurovision. Unfortunately, the pandemic halted their plans, but Mariam’s Eurovision journey was far from over!
