Wes Scantlin Faces Felony Charges After Alleged Domestic Violence Incident And Drug Discovery

by Coco

Wes Scantlin, frontman of the rock band Puddle of Mudd, is facing felony charges after a reported domestic violence incident with his girlfriend in Torrance, California. The 52-year-old musician was taken into custody on March 11 following a dispute at his apartment that allegedly turned physical, according to TMZ.

Law enforcement sources shared that after speaking with both Scantlin and his unnamed girlfriend, police found visible marks on her arms, indicating a possible altercation. The confrontation escalated from a verbal disagreement into a physical confrontation, prompting police to arrest Scantlin on domestic violence charges. Additionally, a small quantity of drugs was reportedly found during his arrest.

Scantlin was booked at approximately 5:12 a.m. and later released on March 15 after posting bond. He now faces felony charges for both domestic violence and possession of a controlled substance. Court appearances are scheduled for March 28 and April 15.

This arrest follows a troubling performance by Scantlin earlier this month at a charity event, where he claimed he had been “roofied” by an ex-bandmate before the show. The incident adds to the musician’s ongoing legal troubles, which have included a highly publicized SWAT standoff in 2024, as well as prior arrests for DUI and resisting arrest.

Scantlin’s history of legal issues has raised concern among fans and the public alike, and his upcoming court cases are likely to keep him in the headlines.
