In a dramatic turn of events, reggaeton superstar Daddy Yankee has filed a $250 million lawsuit against his ex-wife, Mireddys González, and her sister, Ayeicha González Castellanos. The lawsuit, filed on March 4 in Puerto Rico, accuses the sisters of financial mismanagement, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duties, and defamation.
Daddy Yankee, whose real name is Ramón Luis Ayala Rodríguez, alleges that González and her sister mismanaged two of his music companies, El Cartel Records and Los Cangris Inc. The lawsuit claims that the sisters withdrew $100 million from the companies’ bank accounts without authorization, in an apparent attempt to liquidate assets before a court order forced them to surrender control.
Upon regaining control of his companies, Daddy Yankee discovered significant administrative and financial irregularities, including deleted emails and uncashed royalty checks that had expired. The lawsuit states that the sisters made negligent and selfish decisions detrimental to both the companies and Daddy Yankee personally.
The couple finalized their divorce in February after nearly three decades of marriage. This legal action marks a bitter end to a relationship once celebrated for its stability in the music industry.
