Eric Church is having fun at his friend Morgan Wallen’s expense. His Nashville bar, Chief’s on Broadway, is now offering a drink inspired by Wallen’s infamous chair-throwing incident.
The incident occurred on April 7, 2024, when Wallen allegedly threw a chair off the top floor of Rodney Scott’s Whole Hog BBQ. The new drink, called “The Chair,” was inspired by the event.
“The Chair” features Smirnoff raspberry vodka, raspberry liqueur, lemonade, and a splash of soda. It’s served in a red cup with a miniature folding chair as a garnish. Priced at $19, the drink is a lighthearted nod to the incident.
The playful drink comes just days after Wallen’s arrest and reflects his close friendship with Church. Shortly after the incident, the two released “Man Made a Bar,” which topped the Billboard Country Airplay chart.
Church’s bar also had some fun with the incident by updating its marquee. It read, “OUR PIGS FLY OUR CHAIRS DON’T,” poking fun at the chaotic moment.
Wallen’s arrest led to three charges of reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct. Officers witnessed the chair falling from the rooftop to the street below, according to Metro Nashville police.
In December, Wallen was sentenced to a week at a DUI education center and two years of probation. He was also fined $350. His attorney stated that if Wallen completes his probation, the charges could be dismissed and expunged.
Wallen, 31, has cooperated with authorities, and his lawyer mentioned that Wallen remains focused on making a positive impact through his music and foundation.
