The cause of death for former My Chemical Romance drummer Bob Bryar has been ruled “undetermined.” His body was discovered in his home on November 26, 2024, and autopsy reports revealed the presence of three large canisters of nitrous oxide nearby, along with antidepressants in the home.
The medical examiner noted a potential overdose, either intentional or accidental, but ultimately classified the cause and manner of death as undetermined.
Bryar, 44, had last been seen alive on November 4, 2024. My Chemical Romance, with whom he performed from 2004 to 2010, shared their condolences on social media, describing him as an important part of the band’s history.
During his tenure with the band, Bryar contributed to notable albums like Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge and The Black Parade. He joined MCR after working as a sound engineer and later left following the release of Danger Days.
The band expressed their sadness, asking for privacy as they processed the loss of their former drummer.
