Taylor Swift was notably absent from the 97th Academy Awards, despite her glamorous appearances at recent high-profile events. The “Lover” singer, who wowed the Grammy Awards in a striking red Vivienne Westwood dress, and turned heads at the Super Bowl with a playful nod to her beau Travis Kelce, chose to stay out of the Oscars spotlight this year.
Although no awards ceremony would typically keep Swift away, the singer isn’t nominated this time, making her absence understandable. She could have joined the stellar lineup of presenters or performers, including Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo, and Doja Cat, but opted for a quieter evening instead. After wrapping up her massively successful Eras Tour, it seems Swift is taking a well-earned break.
Interestingly, her ex Joe Alwyn did make an appearance at the Oscars, which certainly could have sparked a headline-worthy encounter. But for now, Swift remains focused on her next steps after an intense touring schedule.
