Unfazed by the hateful remark, Rexha laughed it off, declaring, “Honestly, who cares? That’s a f—in’ hater, like, who’s bored with their life.” The clip quickly made its way across social media, prompting Rexha to share her thoughts in a candid Instagram Story video.
“I just got back from Dubai. I did an amazing charity event. It was so beautiful,” Rexha shared with her followers. “But I want to address a couple of things. Number one, I am unbothered. Number two, I know I’ve gained weight. I’ve been through a lot, and I know people know my songs but don’t really know me.”
The Grammy-nominated star continued, “Instead of letting all that break me down, it has actually made me feel more powerful.” Rexha explained how these experiences, including the criticism, have fueled her creativity. “I’ve been working on new music, and I’ve been putting all of this energy into it,” she said.
Closing the video on a positive note, Rexha assured her fans that she doesn’t want their sympathy. “I promise you, I feel stronger than ever,” she said. “And I love you.”
