Shiloh Jolie-Pitt Officially Files to Change Name

by Coco

The daughter of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, has requested a legal name change to drop the “Pitt” from her surname amidst her parents’ ongoing legal battles, as revealed in documents obtained by TMZ on May 30.

Shiloh’s name change request was filed on May 27, coinciding with her 18th birthday, marking her transition into legal adulthood and signaling a new phase in her life.

Aside from Shiloh, Brad and Angelina co-parent their other children: Maddox, 22, Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, as well as twins Vivienne and Knox, 15.

E! News sought comments from representatives for Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie but did not receive responses at the time of reporting.

Interestingly, Shiloh’s name alteration is not the only change in the family’s nomenclature. Reports surfaced recently that Vivienne’s name appeared as “Vivienne Jolie” in the playbill for the new Broadway musical The Outsiders, a project she contributed to alongside her mother, Angelina.

Similarly, Zahara has also chosen to drop her hyphenated last name. During her initiation into the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority at Spelman College in November, she introduced herself as “Zahara Marley Jolie.”

The decision to alter their names is part of a longstanding family tradition. Angelina Jolie herself dropped her father Jon Voight’s surname to become Angelina Jolie, while Brad Pitt transitioned from William Bradley Pitt to Brad Pitt upon his move to Los Angeles to pursue acting.

The Jolie-Pitt family’s penchant for name changes seems to be a generational trait that continues to evolve.
