Pop superstar Taylor Swift is putting her love life front and center when it comes to her future plans for the Super Bowl Halftime Show. According to an insider, Swift has made it clear that she won’t take the iconic stage until her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, hangs up his cleats for good.
A source close to the singer spilled the tea to the Daily Mail, revealing that Swift is prioritizing her relationship over the career-defining performance—at least for now. “She doesn’t want to do it now until Travis is fully retired as she would like to be at the game supporting him rather than performing at it,” the insider shared. “When she eventually performs at it, she wants all her loved ones to be able to experience it. And as long as Travis is in the league, the Chiefs have a chance to be in the game, so she is going to wait to do it till he is officially done.”
The NFL, however, is keeping the door wide open for Swift whenever she’s ready to take the spotlight. “Taylor is and always will be considered,” the source added. “And if she wants to do it, she will get the gig. The NFL and Jay are throwing other names out there, and they will have someone confirmed on their side of things this summer and then announce it at the start of next season or at the latest Thanksgiving. Taylor is not in talks but is always a phone call away because the NFL knows they would be stupid if they didn’t at least entertain the fact that she should do it. They will continue to have their feelers out there, and if she wanted to do it, again, she would absolutely get it.”
Fans are now left wondering just how long they’ll have to wait for Swift’s Halftime Show debut. With Kelce still dominating on the field, it seems the Chiefs’ playoff runs could keep Swift in the stands for a few more years. But one thing’s for sure: when the time comes, it’ll be a love story no one will want to miss.
So, Travis, any retirement plans in the works? Swifties are waiting!
