Shakira’s Medellín Concert Postponed Over Safety Concerns, Following Recent Peru Cancellation

Shakira has postponed another concert on her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran world tour, this time due to safety concerns at the venue. The Medellín, Colombia, show, originally set for February 24, was canceled after damage to the stage roof raised safety risks for the artist, her team, and the audience.

The decision was announced by concert promoter Páramo Presenta, which explained that the stage roof was damaged during assembly. In a statement, the promoter said, “The roof of the stage installed by the local production suffered damage that puts at risk the safety of the artist, her staff, and, most importantly, that of the audience.” They added that Shakira’s team is working to reschedule the show and apologized for the inconvenience.

Shakira addressed the postponement on social media, expressing her disappointment. “My people from Medellín! It hurts me a lot not to be able to get on stage and sing for you as much as I wanted to,” she wrote on X. The singer also shared that her two sons, Milan, 12, and Sasha, 10, were with her in Colombia and had been excited to experience Medellín. She assured fans that a new date would be announced soon and thanked them for their support.

This is the second cancellation on Shakira’s tour in recent weeks. On February 16, she canceled a show in Peru due to an abdominal issue that required hospitalization. At the time, she explained on social media that doctors advised her not to perform, as she was not in good enough condition. Shakira expressed her sadness at missing the show and promised to reschedule.

The Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran tour began on February 11 in Rio de Janeiro. Despite the setbacks, Shakira remains committed to her fans. Páramo Presenta confirmed that new tour dates in Colombia are being planned for later this year, with hopes to bring the show to multiple cities.

Shakira’s team continues to prioritize safety and health, ensuring that both the artist and her audience can enjoy the concert experience without risks. Fans are encouraged to stay tuned for updates on rescheduled dates.
