Lil Wayne Performs Hits At SNL 50th After Expressing Disappointment Over Super Bowl Snub

Lil Wayne made a triumphant return to SNL during the SNL 50: The Anniversary Special on Sunday, February 16. The 42-year-old rapper, joined by The Roots, performed a high-energy medley of his biggest career hits, including “Uproar,” “Lollipop,” “6 Foot 7 Foot,” “Mrs. Officer,” and wrapping with “A Milli.”

This appearance came months after Wayne voiced his frustration at not being selected to perform at the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show. After Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl performance was announced in September, Wayne expressed his hurt in a candid Instagram video, revealing that he felt personally let down by the exclusion.

Wayne spoke openly about his disappointment, acknowledging his emotional reaction, “It hurt a whole lot… I thought there was nothing better than that spot and that stage in my city.” However, in December, he and Lamar reportedly spoke, with Wayne wishing him success, even though he admitted to feeling upset about the situation.

Before the Super Bowl, Wayne teased an exciting project, hinting at something special coming up while joking about “a seat to fill” for the halftime show.

The star-studded SNL 50th Anniversary Special aired live on NBC and is available to stream on Peacock.
