Lily Allen Addresses ’emotional Turmoil’ And Treatment Center Stay Following David Harbour Spli

by Coco

Lily Allen has recently shared details about her decision to seek help at a treatment center, emphasizing that she is now in a more stable and positive state after experiencing significant emotional challenges.

The “Smile” singer, who recently separated from her husband of four years, David Harbour, addressed her mental health on her BBC podcast, Miss Me?. The episode aired on February 13, where Allen expressed gratitude for having the time and space she needed to focus on herself. She described her treatment center experience as beneficial, participating in group and individual therapy sessions. Allen acknowledged needing time away from everything to heal.

During her stay, Allen engaged in shadow work, exploring her inner child. She recognized the healing process as a lifelong journey. Sources informed *People* that Allen was devastated by her split from Harbour and that it has been a difficult time for her and her daughters, Marnie Rose, 12, and Ethel Mary, 13, whom she shares with ex-husband Sam Cooper.

Allen addressed rumors suggesting she dislikes her children, clarifying that she adores them and made the decision to seek treatment with their well-being in mind. She aims to be her strongest self for them and felt it was becoming increasingly challenging to meet their needs. Leaving them for a few weeks to focus on herself was a difficult but necessary decision ultimately made for their benefit.

Allen emphasized that she does not want her daughters to feel responsible for supporting her and wants them to feel safe and secure. She felt unable to provide that sense of security due to her emotional turmoil. Allen believes she is now in a stronger place, though she acknowledges that healing is ongoing.

Allen had previously mentioned on her podcast in January that she and her daughters provide a support network for each other during difficult times.

The specific type and timing of the treatment center stay remain unclear. However, Allen noted being at the facility when the Los Angeles fires occurred on January 7 and traveling to the city a week later for work on a new musical.

Allen also revealed struggles with her medication over the past year, which contributed to her challenges. She believes she is now on the right track after one antidepressant did not work for her.

Allen and Harbour, known for his role in Stranger Things, married in Las Vegas after meeting on the celebrity dating app Raya. Allen had previously alluded to a tough time affecting her mental health and eating habits on her podcast.
