Michael Bolton has announced that he is canceling his upcoming concert on July 5 at the O2 Arena in London. The 72-year-old singer, who has been recovering from brain surgery, shared the news with fans on February 7, 2025. He expressed his deep regret over having to cancel the show but reassured fans that he is still healing.
“Thank you for all your love and positive energy over this past year. I am so grateful to have the most supportive fans in the world,” Bolton wrote in an Instagram story. He also mentioned that all tickets for the event will be refunded.
This announcement comes a year after Bolton revealed he had been diagnosed with a brain tumor and required immediate surgery. In a Facebook post from January 5, 2024, Bolton shared that the tumor was discovered just before the holidays, and he underwent successful surgery with the help of his medical team.
“I am now recuperating at home, surrounded by the tremendous love and support of my family,” Bolton wrote at the time. He also shared that he would be taking a “temporary break” from performing, stating, “It is always the hardest thing for me to disappoint my fans or postpone a show, but have no doubt I am working hard to accelerate my recovery.”
In October 2024, Bolton had to cancel more concerts, explaining that he was still on the “road to recovery” and not quite at full strength. “It is challenging and often frustrating because I just want to be out there performing for you,” he said on Facebook, adding that he was focusing on his recovery and working on new projects.
At the end of 2024, Bolton shared a heartwarming photo with his family on Christmas Day, wishing his followers peace and joy for the holidays. “Here’s to fresh starts and beautiful moments in 2024!” he wrote.
Fans continue to send their well wishes as Bolton takes the time he needs to heal fully before returning to the stage.
