Shaboozey is looking forward to working with a major artist—Noah Kahan.
In an exclusive interview, Shaboozey, whose real name is Collins Obinna Chibueze, shared his excitement about a potential collaboration with Kahan. The 29-year-old country star revealed that while many artists have reached out to work with him, he’s the one who made the first move with Kahan.
“In my artist journey, I have so many people wanting to collaborate with me and reaching out, and a lot of them are my friends,” Shaboozey said during a Zoom interview from Los Angeles. “But Noah Kahan is someone I’ve reached out to. And he wants to write and do some songs together. So, that’d be really cool.”
Shaboozey also mentioned his desire to collaborate with Myles Smith, though he didn’t go into details.
While discussing his career, Shaboozey also reflected on his experience working with Beyoncé. The country artist, who featured prominently on Beyoncé’s Grammy-winning album Cowboy Carter, recalled a piece of advice the superstar gave him.
“I was recording songs on her album and thought, ‘Oh man, I can’t do these runs,’ or ‘I’m nowhere near the vocalist or performer Beyoncé is,’” Shaboozey admitted. “I kind of got in my head about that.”
Beyoncé’s response, however, helped him regain confidence. “They told me, ‘Hey, we brought you here for you to do you, for you to be yourself.’”
Shaboozey added that the key lesson he learned from Beyoncé was simple: “Just be yourself.” He emphasized, “Be confident in the fact that you are different, you are unique, and that’s what people are going to resonate with.”
In addition to his collaboration plans, Shaboozey is making waves in the music industry. His song “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” topped Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart and dominated the Hot 100 for 19 weeks, surpassing Lil Nas X‘s record with Old Town Road.
At the 2025 Grammy Awards, Shaboozey earned five nominations, including Song of the Year, Best New Artist, and Best Country Solo Performance. He also contributed to Cowboy Carter, with his tracks “Spaghettii” and “Sweet Honey Buckiin’” alongside artists like Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, Miley Cyrus, and Post Malone.
