Katie “KT” Smith, the ex of country music star Morgan Wallen, has confirmed that she and her husband Luke Scornavacco have parted ways after just nine months of marriage. The social media influencer, 30, made the announcement on her Instagram Stories on Tuesday, January 14.
With a heavy heart, KT revealed the split, acknowledging that her followers had been deeply invested in her relationship with Scornavacco, which was frequently shared on social media at the start. “As difficult as it is to share this, I know that a lot of you guys have been invested in our relationship since we used to post together a lot at the beginning,” she wrote. “I wanted to give you an update, especially since we’ve both been hounded with questions.”
KT went on to say, “Luke and I have decided to separate. We won’t be sharing any further details, as there truly isn’t much to share. We both have to do what’s best for us, as well as for Indigo.” KT referred to her 4-year-old son, Indigo, who she shares with her ex, Morgan Wallen.
In her message, KT emphasized that the decision to part ways was mutual, expressing that there was “nothing but love on both sides.” She also shared that they both want to be the best versions of themselves. “We just haven’t worked out in a while, and we both need to be the best version of ourselves,” she added. The influencer ended her message by noting that she and Luke would continue to “root each other on from a distance.”
In 2024, KT and Luke shared a heartfelt engagement announcement, showcasing their engagement photos on Instagram, where Smith sported a long white dress and showed off a stunning square-shaped diamond engagement ring. The couple tied the knot shortly after their engagement, with KT teasing fans with a “swipe for a surprise” caption that revealed their marriage certificate.
Fans were left shocked by the news of their split, especially after a whirlwind engagement and a wedding ceremony earlier in the year. Despite the breakup, KT’s commitment to privacy and mutual respect for each other’s journey remains clear.
