Gracie Abrams is sharing her heartfelt memories from the final night of Taylor Swift’s *Eras* Tour, which wrapped up in Vancouver on December 8, 2024. The 25-year-old singer, who opened for Swift at 49 shows across the globe, described the last concert as a deeply emotional experience for everyone involved.
“Everyone had been crying all day. It felt like the last day of school backstage,” Abrams said in an interview with *Nylon* on December 17. “We were all walking around with Sharpies, signing each other’s Eras Tour books. The energy was just so emotional.”
For Abrams, being on tour with Swift meant not only a close bond with the superstar but also invaluable lessons in performance. “It’s been such an emotional, life-changing experience,” she shared. “I’m just in awe of what we’ve all created together.” She reflected on how, during the tour, she felt that a unique and once-in-a-lifetime opportunity was coming to an end as the final show approached.
“I’m feeling emotional and grateful,” Abrams added, speaking of the tour’s end. “It’s hard to believe we won’t be experiencing that kind of energy again as a global community.”
As one of the opening acts for Swift’s *Eras* Tour, Abrams had the chance to study and learn from one of the best in the business. “I’ve been soaking up every moment of Taylor’s show,” she said. “I’ve watched her every time I’ve been on the road with her, and even in the quiet moments, I’m learning. I watched live streams of the shows I couldn’t be at.” Abrams, whose debut album *Good Riddance* shot her career to new heights, has made a lasting impact with her intimate performances alongside Swift.
The success of the *Eras* Tour and her collaboration with Swift has given Abrams an unprecedented boost in visibility. “It’s incredible how much one song can change everything,” she said, reflecting on how her single “That’s So True” propelled her even further into the spotlight. “Seeing it all play out in a stadium, it felt unreal.”
The experience of performing in front of massive crowds and hearing fans sing along to her songs left a lasting impression on Abrams. “It’s like, ‘What the heck? How is this even real?’” she marveled. “It’s something I never thought would happen to me, and it’s just mind-blowing.”
One of the most memorable moments of the tour came during a surprise mashup of Swift’s “Out of the Woods” and Abrams’ track “Us” at Toronto’s Rogers Centre on November 16. The pair’s emotional performance highlighted the deep connection they share, with Swift calling Abrams a “safe place” and describing their collaboration as “something we had been building up to for so long.”
In an interview earlier this year, Abrams recalled her experience performing “Us” with Swift at Wembley Stadium in London, describing the feeling of intimacy despite the massive crowd. “She has this ability to make a stadium feel like it’s just you and her,” she said. “That was a huge moment for me.”
